Adjusted net income for the quarter fell slightly by 0,5% to R$61,2 million.
Global exports of green coffee beans, in the accumulated total of eleven consecutive months, specifically, in the period from October 2023 to August 2024, reached the physical volume equivalent to 113,81 million 60 kg bags, a performance that represents an increase of 10,5%, compared to the total exported in the same previous period, which was equivalent to 102,99 million bags.
Firstly, it is important to clarify that the highlighted data on green coffee exports, in addition to other data that will also be used in this analysis and dissemination regarding the global performance of the sector, were extracted from the Coffee Market Report, for the month of September 2024, by the International Coffee Organization – ICO. Said Organization defines and distinguishes four major coffee producing regions in the world, namely: Asia & Oceania, Africa, South America and Mexico & Central America.
Furthermore, according to the Organization's analysis and technical definition criteria, in relation to the global coffee sector, the coffee year to cover the producing countries of the four different producing regions of the planet adopted by the ICO, comprises the period from October to September, and, more than that, the green coffees in focus are classified into four groups: Colombian Milds, Other Milds, Brazilian Naturals and Robustas.
Thus, in this context, explaining individually the performance of each of these types of green coffees, it can be seen that exports of Colombian Milds, in the first eleven months of the 2023-2024 coffee year, totaled 11,22 million bags, which is equivalent to 9,85% of the total green coffee exported. Furthermore, this volume represented an increase of 13,6%, in relation to what was exported in the same previous period.
Regarding Other Milds, the physical volume exported in the referred period totaled the equivalent of 20,91 million bags, representing 18,37% of the total exported, which corresponded to an increase of 2,2%, considering the same previous comparative basis. In addition, it is noted that exports of green beans of the Brazilian Natural type totaled 38,22 million bags (33,58%), in the eleven months of the coffee year in question, a volume that represented a significant growth of 21,4% in relation to what was exported previously.
And finally, Robusta coffees also deserve to be highlighted, as they accounted for 43,46 million bags in these exports, a performance that is equivalent to approximately 38,20% of the total exported, a volume that registered a growth of almost 6% in comparison with what was acquired by importers in the previous period in focus.
Thus, based on such data, if a ranking of the percentages mentioned is established, in decreasing order, of global exports of these four types of green coffees, in the accumulated period from October 2023 to August 2024, obviously in accordance with the ICO data under analysis, it can be seen that Robusta coffees led such exports, with a share of 38,20% of these global sales, a species followed by Brazilian Naturals, whose percentage was 33,58%.
In addition, in third place, we highlight the Other Mild coffees, whose exports were equivalent to 18,37% of the total sold to importers. And, finally, in fourth place in this ranking, we have the exports of Colombian Mild coffees, which represented 9,85% of the exports of green coffees, worldwide, in the same period covered by this analysis and disclosure.
