Futureco Bioscience, a Spanish manufacturer of biotechnology products for sustainable agriculture, announced the opening of a new subsidiary in Brazil, a significant step in its expansion strategy in Latin America. Located in the state of São Paulo, the unit will be led by Eric Massarico (right in photo), development director in Brazil.

Since opening subsidiaries in Peru and Colombia five years ago, Futureco Bioscience has followed a policy of strong internationalization. Recently, it began commercial operations in Mexico and opened a subsidiary in Costa Rica. Furthermore, the company operates in several other countries in the region, such as Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic.

Based on the experience accumulated in global agricultural markets and the reception of biological solutions in Latin America, Futureco Bioscience now aims to expand its presence in the promising Brazilian market. Since 2008, the company has operated commercially in Brazil.

According to data presented by the company, the Brazilian organic products market registered a significant increase of 51% during the 2022-23 harvest compared to the previous cycle, reaching revenues of 827 million dollars.

"Brazil stands out as one of the main global markets for biological products, and is also recognized for its high competition and constant demand", he states Maria José Lis (left in photo), director of business development and marketing at Futureco Bioscience.

It highlights Futureco Bioscience's technical experience in Latin America, especially in crops of great commercial interest to Brazil, such as vegetables, fruits from tropical and temperate climates, and extensive crops such as soybeans, corn, coffee and sugar cane. “Our role as a manufacturer of biological solutions, together with our internal philosophy, allows us to develop and offer innovative products adapted to the changing needs of the market,” she says.

Initially, Futureco Bioscience will focus its operations in the central-south region of Brazil, with plans to gradually expand to other areas of the country. The company seeks to establish new commercial partnerships for the distribution of its products, facilitating producers' access to its innovative solutions.
