With the mission of enhancing innovation in Brazilian agribusiness, Fundepag, specialized in business management in the sector, announces its strategic repositioning as a connection agent between researchers, companies, startups, institutes, accelerators and the government.

According to Fundepag, in recent years more than R$1 billion has been invested in innovations and businesses. Today, in addition to connecting the market from end to end, it is responsible for bringing researchers, institutes, innovation hubs and expanding new businesses closer to the entrepreneurship ecosystem, to capture synergies and opportunities to develop innovations that meet the challenges and needs of this sector.

The agro segment has grown considerably in recent years and Fundepag takes on a leading role, going beyond the traditional connection that foundations make. “After a year-long process of consultancy and planning to reach this new positioning, we will be able to generate even more value for the ecosystem by focusing on four strategic pillars: Business, to create new possibilities and take research to the market; Investment, to enable fundraising, including blockchain-based means; Network, with the aim of promoting and facilitating connections between research and companies; and Knowledge, to train and generate content, in addition to promoting discussions”, explains Álvaro Duarte, President of Fundepag.

According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in 2017, the agricultural sector grew approximately 13% and was responsible for 70% of the 1% growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to Álvaro, if the current rate of consumption continues, over the next 30 years it will be necessary to increase 60% more food and 37% more energy in a sustainable environment.

“Faced with these and other major challenges, we will have more and more inputs to support the healthy development of the market. We seek to act as a consultancy that works against the traditional, that is, we get closer to companies and understand their real needs, adding intelligence that brings new opportunities to institutes and research demands, which, when applied, create even more social and economic impact. . This way, we are able to generate business for all stakeholders involved in the processes”, he concludes.

With national operations, Fundepag currently has more than 48 science and technology organizations as partners and has already carried out more than a thousand knowledge transfer events, 6 thousand projects, in addition to having more than 2.500 public and private funders. Its portfolio includes clients such as Basf, Bayer, Danone, Dupont, Internacional Paper, Nestlé, Natura, among others.
