The Fundecitrus Phytosanitary Management System (SGF) helps citrus growers organize and manage data involving pest and disease control. With SGF, it is possible to generate personalized reports, graphs and maps to have a detailed view of the farm based on several variables, information that supports action planning and better management strategies.

“The system gathers and organizes, in a digital database, various information that previously was often written down on paper and could be lost. This facilitates access and visualization and allows you to generate analyzes with just a few clicks”, says Fundecitrus agronomist Luís Scandelai, responsible for the project.

These analyzes make it possible, for example, to monitor the intervals between applications and consult the volumes of spray used for each target (pest or disease), comparing with Fundecitrus recommendations.

In relation to greening (huanglongbing/HLB), the citrus grower can also create comparisons on the annual evolution of the disease between different properties and periods, including in previous years, and classify, by color, the plots depending on the incidence. “With this, it is possible to know which regions need more care, where to intensify internal control or carry out external actions”, comments Scandelai.

“Harvest Release” is another important function. “The system checks the grace periods of the applied products and informs which plots can be harvested”, explains Scandelai. “The producer would have to consult his notes and check the leaflets. The app saves you all this work,” he highlights.

The SGF has been updated and now allows the launch, directly through the application (mobile version), of product application data in the “Application registration” menu.

New role

A new function is also foreseen in the web version: “Inventory and cost control”, for registering pesticides in stock and their values. From the applications carried out, reports can be generated on the quantities in stock, the volumes applied per plot/property and the control costs by target or by class of acaricides, fungicides, insecticides, etc.) according to the selected period.

In practice

The Santa Therezinha farm, owned by the Ralston group, in Bebedouro (SP), participated in the testing of the final phase of SGF development and has adopted the tool since its launch.

“We use it daily. It is a very simple and practical application that allows you to quickly view the farm. It covers all the producer's needs and allows the creation of a data history”, says agricultural manager, Luiz Carlos Rogério. "Before, we organized the data in tables in Excel. Now, with the application, we can find it in one place. If you have the information accessible in the palm of your hand, your decisions will certainly be more assertive", he says.

The Phytosanitary Management System is free and available for download from the Play Store or can be accessed directly through Fundecitrus Phytosanitary Alert.
