Funcafé exceeds R$3,5 billion in disbursements in the 2018/2019 harvest and breaks a record

Volume represents 84% ​​of the total scheduled for the season; For 2019/2020 credit offer is R$5,071 billion

The use of resources from Funcafé (Coffee Economy Defense Fund) in the 2018/2019 harvest reached a historic record with the transfer of R$3,5 billion in financing lines for funding, storage, Financing for Coffee Acquisition (FAC), capital for soluble and roasting industries and for production cooperatives. The volume represents 84% ​​of the total R$4,2 billion offered by financial agents in the period from July 1, 2018 to June 30 of this year. In the last harvest (2017/2018), contracting was R$2,6 billion.

The resources were transferred by 37 financial agents spread across Brazil, including 25 banks (R$ 2,8 billion), two cooperative banks (Bancoob and Sicredi – R$ 195,5 million) and ten credit cooperatives (R$ 517 million) . 

Among the states, Minas Gerais and São Paulo stand out in applications, with almost 50% and 35%, respectively, according to a report released on Friday, July 12, by the Agricultural Policy Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply ( SPA/Map).

The transfers carried out exceeded 5 thousand credit operations, of which 4,6 thousand were contracted with producers, 127 with soluble, roasting and coffee processing industries, in addition to 227 with production cooperatives and 37 with exporting companies.

This harvest, Funcafé made R$903,5 million available to financial agents for costing operations, R$897,4 million for coffee acquisition (FAC), R$1,65 billion for storage and, for working capital for industries soluble, roasting and cooperatives R$ 769,9 million.

“The result was important in meeting the credit needs of the producer and the entire coffee chain, highlights the director of the Marketing and Supply Department of the Agricultural Policy Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply”, Silvio Farnese.

For the 2019/2020 harvest, 35 financial institutions are being hired to operate with a budget of R$5,071 billion.
