An event promoted by the Frísia Cooperativa Agroindustrial in partnership with Corteva Agriscience on August 14 brought together the cooperative's members at its headquarters for a debate on agribusiness trends. The event featured a lecture given by the agricultural engineer and doctor in Applied Economics from the University of São Paulo (USP), Alexandre Barros.

For the speaker, the current scenario represents a great opportunity for Brazilian livestock farming. “African swine fever is decimating a significant part of the largest pork producer in the world, which is China. This will profoundly affect the price formation of animal protein in general. In this scenario, it is likely that Brazil will position itself as an even more relevant pork exporter to China, and this is a historic opportunity”, explains Barros. Furthermore, Barros reinforces that the dynamics of the exchange rate and the favorable movement of the National Congress to approve reforms in Brazil have also favored agribusiness.

The CEO of Frísia, Renato Greidanus, highlighted the importance of promoting technical meetings like this. “We went through a period of great economic instability. We know how important it is, in moments like this, to have the opportunity to update and provide our members with information to contribute to better property management”, he highlights.

The meeting, held in the Leendert de Geus auditorium, at Frísia's headquarters in Carambeí (PR), brought together more than 150 members from the cooperative's area of activity.
