The National Supply Company (Conab) released on Friday (23/09) the September edition of the Logistics Bulletin, which highlights as one of the highlights the drop in freight prices for most states, according to research carried out for the main grain flow routes in the country.

According to the Bulletin, the state of Mato Grosso showed a considerable drop in demands after the end of the harvest period in August. In Mato Grosso do Sul, the freight market showed stability, supported by the movement of second harvest corn.

In Goiás, in August, grain flow by road was lower than expected by transport companies due to the statewide reduction in volumes shipped for export. In the Federal District, road freight also showed a decline on most of the routes surveyed. The drop in fuel prices and the completion of the second harvest of corn resulted in a reduction in prices.

In Paraná, the sale of corn for export remains at a standstill, due to the grains being directed to regional use. In Bahia, freight rates in August showed a downward or stable trend, signaling the effect of the reduction in the value of fuel and the reduction in demand for transporting agricultural products. In relation to freight in Piauí, the variations observed are due to road conditions, especially during rainy periods, and also to reductions in fuel prices.

Corn exports

The September Logistics Bulletin also highlighted the sale of corn abroad. The product reached a record for the period between January and August, reaching 17,9 million tons exported, a value 79,3% higher than the same period last year, which generated 9,98 million tons exported.

The intense pace of exports was driven by the rise in international prices and also by expectations, which point to a drop in world production of the cereal. However, this upward movement was limited by the resistance of buyers, who prioritized the use of their stocks, betting on a fall in prices, with the expectation of a good evolution in the progress of the harvest in the USA and the consequent possibility of a reduction in Brazilian shipments. , reports the Bulletin.

In the case of soybeans, exports reached 66,62 million tons, against 72,69 million tons in the same period of 2021, representing a drop of 8,3%, a reflection of lower domestic production and the international situation.
