Francila Calica is appointed vice-president of Abag

Francila Calica, Director of Sustainability and Agricultural Affairs at Bayer for Latin America, has been appointed Vice President of the Brazilian Agribusiness Association (Abag) for the next two years (2026 and 27).

"It is an honor to assume the vice-presidency of Abag and to be able to promote, together with other leaders, a positive agenda for the sector," he said. "At Bayer, our focus is on developing innovative solutions so that farmers can produce more, more efficiently and sustainably. I bring this same vision to the association, seeking to strengthen the dialogue on how science and public policies can accelerate the development of agriculture that benefits everyone."

A journalist with nearly two decades of experience, Calica has a solid career in agribusiness, standing out as an important female leader in the sector.

Her career path includes stints at media outlets, industry associations, and multinational agribusiness companies, where she worked in the areas of corporate communications, reputation management, institutional and governmental relations, and sustainability.

He also holds positions in other important industry organizations, such as CropLife Brasil and the Brazilian section of the Brazil-Germany Business Council.

Currently, her leadership in institutional relations and sustainability at Bayer in Latin America encompasses strategy, dialogue, and how to advance bilateral relations agendas in favor of science in agriculture, supporting the shaping of a regulatory environment that encourages innovation in agriculture, and how to advance the sustainability and regenerative agriculture agenda in the sector.
