FPT Industrial is strengthening its position in the construction equipment sector with the new “E Series” of CASE Construction Equipment hydraulic excavators, which will be powered by the company’s Stage V NEF engines.
Building on a 180-year legacy of earthmoving innovation, CASE now introduces its “E Series” hydraulic excavators, where “E” stands for “Excellence” – with models from 13 to 30 metric tons: CX130E, CX160E, CX180E, CX210E, CX240E, CX250E and CX300E. All of them provide the best benefits in their category, offering customers greater controllability, reliability, operator comfort, efficiency, productivity and lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and are driven by NEF engines from FPT Industrial.
Choosing FPT Industrial's NEF motors will guarantee better transient response capability, ensuring high reliability and thus meeting the demanding needs of this specific application. With the E Series, CASE completes its Stage V line, confirming FPT Industrial as a solid partner.
The new E Series incorporates more powerful and efficient Stage V engines that offer larger displacement while meeting stringent emissions requirements. The 13 to 18 metric ton models use the N45, a 4,5-liter engine from the renowned NEF series, while the N67 (6-cylinder, 6,7-liter version of the same engine family) powers the 21 to 30 ton models. metrics.
The NEF engines powering the CASE E Series ensure optimal combustion efficiency thanks to their EGR-free architecture, while the patented HI-eSCR2 aftertreatment system results in lower operating costs – this permanent system requires no mechanical cleaning or replacement parts throughout their life cycle. High-capacity filters with clogging sensors provide best-in-class service intervals of up to 1.000 hours, an exceptional improvement over previous solutions.
With NEF engines powering this new series of excavators, more and more CASE Construction vehicles are being supplied with FPT engines. This offers advantages in the field, with a great simplification of construction site management.
To enable the use of renewable fuels, the NEF Stage V engines adopted in all E Series models are EN15940 compliant, as is the increasingly popular HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil).
Designed for the most demanding missions performed by construction equipment, the NEF series is the main example of FPT Industrial's technological excellence. Since 2001, more than 2 million engines have been produced for a wide range of applications: construction equipment, agriculture, on-road, marine applications and power generation.
FPT Industrial's offer for the earthmoving sector includes engine families with power from 40 to 670 kW and displacement from 2,8 to 20 liters. They can be installed in various applications such as excavators, wheel loaders, skid steer loaders, motor graders, bulldozers, forklifts, cranes and others.
With best-in-class performance in terms of power and torque, fuel efficiency and reliability, the NEF series stands out for its flexibility, with 4 (N45) and 6 (N67) cylinder configurations, as well as a wide range of options. that adapt the solution to customer requirements.
NEF engines and the HI-eSCR2 system for Stage V compliance are offered in a compact, lightweight design for easy in-vehicle installation, offering a wide range of aftertreatment configurations for customized solutions.
Combining robustness, reliability and performance, NEF engines have been chosen over the years by a large number of customers for heavy-duty off-road applications.
“The new CASE E Series excavators are a perfect example of how new and pioneering features can integrate and work together to provide customers with excellent, real-world benefits,” says Diego Rotti, Off-Road Product Marketing Manager at FPT Industrial. “We are proud to provide powerful and efficient engine solutions to CASE Construction Equipment, ensuring the technological excellence it deserves, and to do our best to keep CASE at the top of such a demanding and competitive industry.”
