Aprosoja-GO launches solidarity campaign with members; The aim is to donate equipment to hospitals that need it most
The president of the Parliamentary Agricultural Front (FPA), deputy Alceu Moreira (MDB-RS) sent this Monday (30) a letter to the Chinese Embassy in Brazil. “In a recent manifesto by the FPA, formed by almost 300 parliamentarians from the National Congress, we said how important and necessary it is to maintain our good relations of friendship and trade with China which, even in these times, has been suffering unimaginable attacks on social media in the face of the advance of the new coronavirus pandemic”, he highlighted.
Isolated statements on social media hold China responsible for the coronavirus pandemic and have recently provoked a diplomatic crisis between the two countries. The Chinese ambassador to Brazil, Yang Wanming, expressed his condemnation of the attacks. The FPA issued an official statement at the time stating that it wished to maintain bilateral relations between Brazil and China at the highest level.
Last Friday (27), the Chinese Embassy in Brazil published an “Open Letter to the Brazilian Society”, in which it says: “any attempt to defame China and undermine China-Brazil fraternity, regardless of who its author is, Whatever their form, they will fail.”
The president of the FPA emphasizes that the bench does not corroborate any statement made in this regard and repudiates conclusions and attacks against one of the most important partners of the last decade for our development.
“We will overcome the pandemic hand in hand, as agreed in a conversation held between the federal government and President Xi Jinping, accompanied by our efficient Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, responsible for significant advances in opening the Brazilian market”, said the parliamentarian.
According to the FPA, Brazil's image abroad is undergoing a true demystification and China is one of the countries that most collaborates in showing our country's true vocation: sustainable agriculture, with economic and social balance. “We are prepared to maintain our diplomatic relations not only in the commercial context, but also in health, as we seek Chinese references in combating the spread of the virus and curing infected people throughout the national territory”, he highlighted.
“We reiterate that no harm to this bilateral relationship will be tolerated and that we will be ready to oppose any threat to the good relationship between Brazil and China, especially with a view to economic recovery. The moment calls for global unity to overcome a disease without nationality that afflicts all humanity”, concluded Moreira.
