The Regional Cooperative of Coffee Growers in Guaxupé – Cooxupé will hold, on July 31st, the 6th Coffee and Climate Forum, in Guaxupé/MG. The event will take place in the main auditorium, from 14pm to 17pm. There will be online broadcast via Hub do Café and the cooperative's YouTube channel.

The meeting aims to present scenarios, with technical climatological and environmental information, about the current coffee harvest and what can be expected for 2025.

Agenda

The Forum will have three lectures with experts and researchers in the area, mediated by agricultural engineer Mário Ferraz de Araújo, Technical Development manager at Cooxupé.

“Technically, we bring relevant topics to guide our members and convey scenarios about the current and next harvest. The speakers have great knowledge in their areas and constantly study to bring up-to-date information to coffee growers”, explains Araújo.

The first lecture will be given by agronomist Guilherme Vinícius Teixeira, coordinator of the cooperative's Geoprocessing department, on the topic: “Meteorological conditions occurring in the 2024/2025 harvest and their consequences in the coffee growing regions of Cooxupé”.

Afterwards, agrometeorologist and agronomist Marco Antônio dos Santos, founding partner of the company Rural Clima, will present the “Climate forecasts for the 2025 harvest – how to prevent La Niña”.

Concluding the program, Prof. Dr. José Donizeti Alves, agronomist and professor of Plant Physiology at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), will discuss the “Impacts of adverse climate on coffee physiology: an analysis of the 2024 harvest and perspectives for 2025”.
