FMC held the first Cana FMC Meeting, a 100% online event that brought together personalities from the sugar-energy sector from across the country to exchange experiences, analyze the current situation and discuss new perspectives.

The action took place at the beginning of the month and was attended by the Minister of Agriculture of the government from 2003 to 2006 and coordinator of the FGV Agribusiness Center, Roberto Rodrigues; the senior professor of agribusiness at INSPER and coordinator of the INSPER Agro Global Center, Marcos Jank; the director of Canaplan, Caio Carvalho, as well as numerous personalities from the sugarcane production chain.

Where there is sugarcane, there is energy

The program also included the launch of the campaign “Where there is Cane, there is Energy”, which aims to value the entire sugar-energy sector, showing that it is present in our daily lives, generating different sources of sustainable energy.

The company also promotes several activities in the field to promote the sustainability and productivity of crops, such as technological tours and the Gennesis Program, which combines high-performance biological and chemical solutions, enabling sugarcane to develop free from pests and diseases and express the maximum production potential.

"We have been leaders in solutions for sugarcane for over 10 years. We are present throughout the entire crop cycle and alongside the producer to understand their needs and deliver solutions for the most different needs. Therefore, we are proud to say that we are the main crop protection Company for sugar cane. But, sugar cane is not just a market for us. We know the importance of this sector for the country and we want to value the crop, showing that sugar cane is present in our daily lives, generating energy in the most diverse forms", highlighted the Director of Sugarcane & Specialties, Marco Faria.

Faria also reinforces that the Campaign will have the support of entities, associations and cooperatives, with the aim of bringing information about the benefits of the sector to society as a whole. "Innovation is part of FMC's DNA, we are passionate about bringing new solutions to farmers around the world. And now we want to go further, raising the flag of the importance of the sugar-energy sector, together with all the links in the chain, to further leverage this such an important crop", he adds.
