Hydrogen makes mobile machine drive systems environmentally friendly
Combustion engines and fuel cells, powered by climate-neutral hydrogen, can be used to power off-road vehicles
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) approved the toxicological assessment of Isagro technical hidrandapyr. The request was made by Isagro Brasil which, during the administrative process, ended up being incorporated by Gowan Produtos Agrícolas Ltda (Isagro S.p.A. was purchased by Gowan Company LLC in 2021). To sell products based on the molecule, approval from the Ministry of Agriculture is required.
The Fluindapyr molecule (fluindapyr, CAS 1383809-87-7, Frac 7) was developed by FMC in conjunction with the Italian company Isagro S.p.A. (owner of Isagro Brasil). In 2012, FMC announced the product, although it did not reveal the name (Cultivar Magazine 03/10/2012). In 2020, it acquired the rights to the molecule for US$65 million.
Fluindopyr is a fungicide and nematicide from the pyrazole-carboxamides group, which also includes benzovindiflupyr, bixafen, fluxapyroxad, furametpyr, inpyrfluxam, isopyrazam, penflufen, penthiopyrad and sedaxane. It acts as an inhibitor of succinate dehydrogenase, a key enzyme in the citric acid cycle (Krebs Cycle, series of chemical reactions used by all aerobic organisms to generate energy). By inhibiting succinate dehydrogenase, fluindapyr interrupts the energy production process, leading to the death of fungal cells.
Based on fluindopyr, FMC launched the fungicide Onsuva in 2022 in Argentina and Paraguay. Its target is diseases in soybeans and peanuts. In Brazil, there are several applications for registration of commercial products based on this molecule. For example: Erthos (fluindapyr and difeconazole), Ferus (fluindapyr and azoxystrobin and difenoconazole) and Rustop (fluindapyr and azoxystrobin).
There is also a request from Isagro Brasil (currently Gowan) to register a product with the Fluarys trademark (fluindapyr and prothioconazole) for soybean cultivation.
UPDATE (14/08/2023): The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) today approved the act of toxicological evaluation of a product with the commercial brand Zaltus (fluindapir, fluindapyr). The order was placed on 15/03/2018 by Gowan (at the time, still Isagro Brasil).
