The first biofertilizer registered in Brazil is an achievement by Microquimica, a Brazilian company that operates in the production and commercialization of biofertilizers, inoculants, adjuvants and plant growth regulators, which is participating for the eighth time in Hortitec, the largest horticulture fair in Latin America. The event takes place between the 26th and 28th of June, at the Expoflora Pavilion, in Holambra (SP).

Vorax has a biostimulant action and is produced from the biological fermentation of sugar cane molasses. Registration was granted in December 2018, in a process that took around six years to complete, after much research into various cultures and high investment.

The group's technical director, Roberto Berwanger Batista, states that Vorax is the only one with guarantee and certification to be supplied with the biofertilizer seal and reinforces that the registration is a milestone for the entire agricultural sector in Brazil. “It is an achievement for the company, but we believe that with this we have officially opened a new class of products and regulated technology for use here in the country, which help plants express their productive potential and additionally help to make agriculture more sustainable”.

With this achievement, the group can clearly communicate the product's active ingredients, the main one being an amino acid called L-glutamic acid, and the effects of the formula on plant metabolism. “These effects are quite different from nutritional ones and are observed with very low application doses. Doses range from 30 to 100 ml per hectare and activate three metabolisms in plants, nitrogen, carbon and oxidative, generating greater growth and productivity”, says Batista, who states that this is the product's great differentiator, which motivated the search for placement in the appropriate class. “And this class is Biofertilizers, not Fertilizers”.

The efficiency of Vorax, including in horticulture, in crops such as tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, cabbage, beets and chicory, has been proven in scientific studies, with several publications in scientific journals. “These are studies that confirm the absorption and metabolization of biofertilizer in the most diverse crops, with gains in growth, productivity and even post-harvest conservation, which improve the producer’s profitability”, reinforces the director.
