freight

Regarding the freight market, the Bulletin reports that in Bahia, the logistics flow for grain transportation fell compared to November. With the reduction in demand, a decrease in freight prices was observed in most of the locations surveyed in the state. In the Federal District, however, small variations were recorded in the locations surveyed. Freight prices for the ports of Paranaguá, in Paraná, and Santos, in São Paulo, remained stable or with small price variations.

For Goiás, the demand for freight in the municipality of Rio Verde in December was low, which is normal for this time of year, according to carriers. For most routes, freight prices decreased, except for some specific routes originating in Cristalina and Catalão. Despite the low movement, occasional demand has faced some difficulty in finding trucks to meet orders.

In Maranhão, in December, there were no road freight shipments of soybean cargoes to the port of Itaqui or to the Porto Franco Railway Terminal, due to the lack of stocks. In Mato Grosso, the road freight market showed little movement, remaining at a slow pace at the end of the year. There was a reduction in prices on practically all routes that originate in the state. In Mato Grosso do Sul, freight prices experienced negative fluctuations due to the availability of product for movement.

For Minas Gerais, the Bulletin highlighted that, for coffee, exports are carried out by cooperatives and exporters and have maintained freight values at historical levels due to good demand. In Piauí, the freight market in December remained quite retracted, reflecting impacts on freight values charged on the main routes for the flow of agricultural products in the state.
