After signing the Cooperation Agreement between Syngenta and the Department of Agriculture and Supply of SP, the company, a global leader in agricultural solutions, visited Pasta's headquarters to align intentions and start the project that aims to encourage farmers, especially small and medium-sized companies, to use soil analysis to promote agricultural development.
The executive secretary, Edson Fernandes, highlighted the importance of providing adequate solutions for soil management, promoting social equality for small and medium-sized producers who are often left out of advances in productive potential.
The company's proposal is to offer theoretical and field training to all extension workers from the Comprehensive Technical Assistance Coordination (CATI), spread across 40 units in the State of São Paulo.
The project implemented by the Agronomic Institute (IAC) with support from Syngenta, will provide training on good agricultural practices and soil health to CATI extension workers, to be taught by renowned researchers and speakers in Brazil and abroad.
The Cooperation Agreement was signed by the governor of the State of São Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas, during the SP Agro event, promoted by the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply on November 24th, at Palácio dos Bandeirantes. On the occasion, a package of actions was announced for the sector, which is responsible for 40% of the State's trade balance.
Syngenta also invited the Department of Agriculture to visit the Research and Development Center, which carries out studies to advance seed treatments and is also the company's first unit in the world to become self-sufficient in the generation of clean electrical energy, located in city of Holambra.
