Flowering and fruit setting are important stages in the development of a plant. Some management can be done to improve this entire process, such as increasing reserve carbohydrate levels during the vegetative development phase and reducing losses due to stress as much as possible; condition the soil so that it offers a favorable environment; favor greater root development (mainly by absorbents).

Three other important elements for the plant are the search for nutritional balance, providing the necessary nutrients in the correct phases for optimal development; the stimulus to raise the levels of promoting hormones; and increased water availability.

According to Conrado Dias, market development coordinator at Fertiláqua, during the flowering stage it is important that the flowers are viable, with well-formed pollen tubes and fertile pollen grains, in addition to the presence of pollinators in the production area. “Elements such as calcium and boron are essential at this stage,” he explains.

Fruit setting is linked to several factors, the most important of which are the levels of endogenous reserves, nutritional levels, hormonal balance and water availability. More recent studies show that the use of sucrose and anti-stress substances increases the efficiency of fruit setting.

Fertiláqua has the necessary technologies to stimulate plants, providing conditions for better flower and fruit setting, increasing the quantity of fruit and, consequently, gains in production and productivity.

“Through applications of foliar and soil biostimulants, which promote hormonal balance in the plant; increase the efficiency of carbohydrate accumulation, reducing stress, mainly abiotic; provide essential nutrients for this production phase; quickly stimulate the development of absorbent roots; and condition and revitalize soils, with gains in soil biology, chemistry and physics”, says Dias.
