Femagri 2024, which takes place from March 20th to 22nd, from 8am to 18pm, in Guaxupé, Minas Gerais, will focus on the sustainability of coffee production. The theme is related to the objective of Cooxupé - Regional Cooperative of Coffee Growers in Guaxupé, organizer of the fair, of showing its members the importance of commitment to environmental issues.
During the program, coffee growers will be able to acquire new knowledge to promote good agricultural practices and sustainable actions on their properties and crops. Furthermore, the Cooperative will present the concept of its Generations Protocol - a sustainability pact developed by Cooxupé in partnership with SCS Global Service. This protocol includes the different realities and variations of each producer.
Committed to neutralizing carbon emissions, Femagri has, for the second consecutive year, the Neutral Event seal. The certification is granted by Eccaplan for offsetting greenhouse gas emissions from its operations. The voluntary program consists of quantifying greenhouse gas emissions that cannot be avoided, but which are subject to environmental compensation.
Based on a complete inventory of carbon gas emissions, the company compensates through the Terrus Carboun Coffee project. It is through this initiative that coffee producers use regenerative agriculture practices to increase carbon capture from the soil, reinforcing their actions towards the sustainability of coffee production.
Femagri 2024 is open to Cooxupé members and coffee producers. Visitor accreditation takes place from 8am to 18pm, at reception. The event will have an area of 107 thousand square meters and the parking lot has more than 3.200 spaces.
