Femagri -- Fair of Agricultural Machines, Implements and Inputs --, from the Minas Gerais coffee cooperative Cooxupé, achieved positive results in the 2023 edition: until 15:30 pm on February 10th, there were more than R$ 212 million in business through 9,5 thousand quote requests. The public movement is also positive, with the presence of approximately 34 thousand coffee growers during the three days of the fair.

"We received our members with great satisfaction, after two years of holding the fair in virtual format. Much more than a meeting point, Femagri showed the interest and need for coffee producers to invest in their business, seeking sustainability, quality and enhance the productivity of their crops. And for this, our role -- as cooperatives -- is to provide each of them with possibilities and access to technologies and innovations according to their reality and size of production”, states the president of Cooxupé, Carlos Augusto Rodrigues de Melo.

Femagri took place in Guaxupé, South of Minas Gerais, from 08 to 10/02, bringing together more than 12 thousand products on its exhibition platform, from screws to large harvesters, through more than 120 exhibitors.

One of the benefits for Cooxupé cooperative producers is the possibility of purchasing and paying in exchange for coffee, an operation also known as Barter, in 3 or 5 annual installments. Another opportunity for “Pronafiano” coffee farmers, that is, those who participate in Pronaf - National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture, was the interest rate differential of 6% per year. It is worth remembering that 97% of Cooxupé's members are mini and small producers.

Cooxupé has more than 18 thousand members, with Arabica coffee production in the southern regions of Minas, Cerrado Mineiro, central Mogiana in the State of São Paulo and Matas de Minas. 80% of the cooperative's activities correspond to the export of green coffee to customers in 50 countries.
