Data from the agricultural machinery market in the first six months of the year, processed by the National Federation of Agricultural Machinery Builders of Italy (FederUnacoma - Federazione Nazionale Costruttori Macchine Agricole) based on records from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, confirm the contraction reported in annual meeting of the entity, held on June 25 in Zola Predosa (Bologna). The drop in sales, which has continued for more than two years after the peak recorded in 2021, has affected all major types of machines.

Compared to the first half of 2023, tractors decreased by 17,3%, with 8.363 units registered. Harvesters showed a drop of 38,7%, with 173 vehicles registered. The first half of the year also closed with losses for transporters, which recorded a drop of 16,7% with 285 machines registered, for trailers, which managed to contain losses at 4,1% (3.989 units) and for telescopic handlers (- 24,1% with 491 units). This last category of machines, appreciated for their operational versatility, had seen a significant increase in sales in previous years and often showed a countercyclical trend that appears to have stopped in 2022.

The slowdown in the market raises the issue of modernizing the national fleet with greater urgency. According to FederUnacoma, an immediate strengthening of public incentive tools is necessary.
