How to deal with the incidence of aphids in sorghum
Previously restricted to sugarcane crops, the Melanaphis sacchari aphid is now also a reality in sorghum crops
Three level three technical training places (TT-3) and two level one technical training places (TT-1), all with a FAPESP grant, are available through the project “Automated detection of greening (HLB) in the symptomatic and asymptomatic stages of orange trees in the field: UAV system equipped with optical sensors and artificial intelligence”. Registration must be made by July 15, 2020.
The project is carried out at the company Agrientech, in São Carlos, which receives support from the Innovative Research in Small Businesses Program (PIPE) from FAPESP.
One of the TT-3 opportunities is for candidates in the area of Agronomy and/or Remote Sensing who will receive initial training to perform tasks such as sampling leaves for laboratory q-PCR analysis and reflectance measurements with a portable spectroradiometer in the field.
The second TT-3 vacancy is for the areas of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechatronics, in assembling the remote sensing prototype using a commercial drone and an onboard computer.
The scholarship holder of the third TT-3 opportunity, in the area of Urban, Environmental Engineering, Geography or Agronomy, will receive initial training to work with multispectral orthomosaics.
In two waves of TT-1, the fellow will receive initial training to carry out procedures for preparing and executing test plans, analyzing the quality of the software development process, validation and certification of processes. In the other wave, the fellow will receive guidance to carry out bibliographical research tasks on spectral databases.
Candidates must send email to Adolfo Nicolas Posadas Durand (aposadas@agrientech.com).
