The Thematic Project “Towards the convergence of technologies: from sensors and biosensors to information visualization and machine learning for data analysis in clinical diagnosis” offers a postdoctoral opportunity with a FAPESP scholarship. The registration deadline ends on September 25, 2020.
The project, based at the Physics Institute of São Carlos, University of São Paulo (IFSC-USP), and activities at Embrapa Instrumentação Agropecuária, in São Carlos, develops nanostructured sensors using functional nanomaterials applied in the recognition of specific target substances of agri-environmental interest, such as contaminants in food (heavy metals, pesticides, antibiotics and pathogens) and plant diseases. The research will enable the manufacturing of low-cost, portable and versatile detection platforms.
Candidates must have a doctorate degree obtained less than seven years ago in one of the following areas: chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering or related areas.
They must also have experience in the areas of obtaining and characterizing nanomaterials and developing and applying sensors and biosensors. It is also desirable to have international experience of at least three months in an institution outside the country, during or after the doctorate.
