The Thematic Project “Nanometalomics applied to soybean cultivation to study the effects of metal-related nanoparticles” has a direct doctorate vacancy with a scholarship from FAPESP. The registration deadline ends on November 1, 2020.

The project activities are carried out at the Chemistry Institute of the State University of Campinas (IQ-Unicamp).

The research uses Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) to evaluate the extraction conditions and the metabolic profile of soybeans grown in the presence and absence of silver and copper nanoparticles. Different extraction conditions will be evaluated to investigate how nanoparticles affect the chemical content (composition) in soybean plants.

1D and 2D NMR experiments, including molecular diffusion measurements, will be used to characterize the components present in crude plant extracts at different stages of culture.

Candidates must have a background in chemistry. Some experience in NMR is desirable. Interested parties must send their curriculum vitae to the email of the main researcher of the position, the professor Claudio Francisco Tormena (tormena@unicamp.br).
