The list of bonus discounts for the Price Guarantee Program for Family Farming (PGPAF), calculated by the National Supply Company (Conab), is now available. This month, 12 products will be included in different Brazilian states, valid from January 10th to February 9th, as published in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).

The biggest discounts will be granted to mango producers in Rio de Janeiro, Bahia and São Paulo. In these states, the difference between the guarantee price and the registered sales value allowed a bonus of 78,75%, 73,99% and 65,93%, respectively. Natural rubber sold in Maranhão will also have a significant discount, reaching 48,43%, as will cowpeas in Tocantins, with discounts of 46,5%, and cashew nuts in Piauí, with a bonus of 37,37%. %.

In addition to the states mentioned, natural rubber producers in Bahia, Espírito Santo, São Paulo, Paraná, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul; cashew nuts in Ceará, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte; and cowpea in Maranhão and Mato Grosso can also request the bonus. Pineapple farmers in Sergipe will still be entitled to the discount; bananas in Paraíba and Pernambuco; cocoa beans in Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia, Bahia and Espírito Santo; yam/yam in Rondônia; orange in Bahia; castor beans in Ceará; black pepper in Pará, Bahia and Espírito Santo; and wheat in the state of Mato Grosso.

New prices

Starting this month, 23 of the products covered by the Program will have new warranty prices. The adjustment, recently approved by the National Monetary Council (CMN), is valid for one year and was published in the Official Gazette of the Union at the end of last year. The new values are in force for funding and investment operations maturing from January 10th of this year until January 9th, 2024.

Guarantee prices are set based on the regional average variable cost of production. These costs are collected by the Company and take into account the technical coefficients and prices of fertilizers, pesticides, labor, machines, among others.

The PGPAF benefit is granted whenever the market value of the products covered falls below the guarantee price. The production costs prepared by Conab are the main parameter for this calculation. The objective of Pronaf is to finance the implementation, expansion or modernization of production, processing and industrial structures in rural areas and rural community areas.
