The Federation of Agriculture and Livestock System of the State of São Paulo / Rural Learning Service (FAESP/SENAR-SP) will formalize the implementation of the Sugarcane Center of Excellence at Agrishow. The institution, which will facilitate the development of new technologies for the sector, is a partnership between the Federation and the National Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) and the National Rural Learning Service (SENAR). The operating location will be the SENAR-SP Training Center, also in Ribeirão.
“The city is ideal for the operation of the new organization, as it is a large sugarcane cluster and brings together the most modern sugarcane production in the country”, states the president of the Federation, Fábio de Salles Meirelles. The announcement adds to the Federation's various activities during Agrishow, which will take place between April 25th and 29th.
According to the technical manager of SENAR-SP, Jair Kaczinski, Ribeirão is already a major sugarcane production and technological hub and the Center of Excellence will further reinforce this position. “Agrishow, the largest agricultural technology fair in Brazil, is the ideal place for us to make this important initiative official,” he highlights. The forecast is that the body will start operating in two years, predicts the technical manager.
Another major FAESP activity at Agrishow will be with the Special Agro Seeding Commission, which launched on March 8. It is a consultative body, linked to the Presidency of the Federation, with the objective of bringing together women, directly or indirectly linked to the field, to support the entity in the implementation of tools for the valorization and female entrepreneurship in the field. A breakfast, with the presence of 110 entrepreneurs from the agricultural sector, is planned for the event.
FAESP/SENAR-SP will also promote a lecture on the Art Seal, created to identify and allow national trade in artisanal foods of animal origin. The Government of the State of São Paulo announced, on February 23rd, the decree regulating the Law on Craft Products of Animal Origin, approved in November last year.
“The decree included points that were claimed by FAESP, in line with the demand of producers in São Paulo, for modern and simplified standards, which allow the broad regularization of the activity and expand the possibilities for commercializing artisanal products”, highlighted the president of the entity.
SENAR-SP technicians will be present at the event to provide guidance on topics such as Training, Rural Digitalization Programs, Environment, Literacy and all the work developed by the federation in favor of agriculture in São Paulo.
Kaczinski is optimistic about the 27th edition of Agrishow, which resumes public presence, after a two-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “With the widespread adoption of vaccination, I believe that the fair will receive a large audience. The event is the consolidation of agriculture as an essential sector for the country’s economic development”, states the technical manager.
