Aerial spraying is a common technique in large Brazilian crops, such as soybeans and corn, used to quickly apply pesticides and fertilizers over large areas. Its main advantage is its efficiency in emergencies, such as pest outbreaks.
However, the practice is criticized for the risks of drift, which can affect other areas and ecosystems. To reduce these risks, Brazilian legislation imposes specific conditions for spraying, such as wind control and the use of technologies that minimize the dispersion of chemicals.
