FAESP points to increase in the prices of agricultural inputs

Many inputs are showing double-digit percentage variations, such as herbicides and insecticides

The prices of numerous agricultural inputs rose sharply at the beginning of this year. This is what was indicated in edition no. 2, of April 2022, of the FAESP/SENAR-SP Bulletin on Agricultural Inputs, which monitors values ​​in force in the State of São Paulo, based on data provided by the Institute of Agricultural Economics of Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo (IEA-SAA/SP). The reference is January of this year.

In the group of correctives and fertilizers, limestone rose 10,75% in the month. The formula 05-25-25 came next, with a 6,74% monthly increase. The third biggest monthly increase was from the formula 04-20-20, which rose 5,66%, while the fourth position was from Termosphosphate, with an increase of 5,29%. Herbicides also had a strong monthly increase.

In the machinery and tractors segment, the 100 HP tractor rose 31,41%; and in the case of power of 80-90 CV, the adjustment was 19,96%.

In the seeds group, the variations in the prices of bean seeds (13,29%), wheat (9,54%) and soybeans (9,41%) stand out.

In addition to the January reference values, the bulletin shows the variation in the average price over the last 3,6 and 12 months of various inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, machinery, seeds, feed and other products used in the rural sector. Analysis of prices in these windows reveals, for example, that Glyphosate 480 had an annual price increase of around 375,12%.
