FAEP opens new registrations for agricultural insurance course

In total, there are four new classes for training, which provides an overview of how it works and the differences between the types of risk management tools

The FAEP/SENAR-PR System has open registration for four more classes of the “Rural Insurance” course, in the months of August, September, October and November. The training is aimed at producers, employees of rural unions, technical assistance professionals and financial institutions, as well as other professionals involved in the agribusiness production chain. The prerequisite is that the person works in Paraná. Training is free and classes take place live via videoconference.

“Access to rural insurance that meets the interests of rural producers is a tool that we have been fighting for for decades. We are already the State that takes out the most policies, but we still need to expand coverage. Risk management is a fundamental instrument for rural producers to remain in their respective activities and knowledge is the key for the benefit to reach more and more properties in Paraná”, highlights the president of the FAEP/SENAR-PR System, Ágide Meneguette.

The rural insurance course has already trained 1.004 participants since October 2020, when the first classes were held. In total, there were 36 classes: six in 2020; 22 in 2021 and eight in 2022. The majority of people who took the training work in financial institutions or credit unions, 274 in total. In second place are rural producers, with 112 representatives; followed by technical assistance professionals (consulting), with 99 graduates; and technical assistance (planning), with 82 graduates.

Course participants will have access to content such as concepts in the area of ​​agricultural insurance and its importance for risk management, programs at the federal and state level, Agricultural Climate Risk Zoning (Zarc), market and types of rural insurance, types of coverage, examples of calculations, points of attention when taking out insurance, occurrence of an accident, expertise and formation of the insurance rate (premium).

The group of instructors includes some of the most renowned professionals in the field of agricultural insurance in Brazil: Gilson Martins, forestry engineer, professor at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR); Luiz Antonio Digiovani, agricultural engineer and previously worked as manager in the rural credit area of ​​the Banco do Brasil superintendence in Paraná; and Odair Machado, agricultural engineer, with 20 years of experience in multinationals and a technology entrepreneur in the rural insurance sector. The three teach one module each.

Registrations

Registration for the course must be made through the websitesistemafaep.org.br. Classes will be closed in order of registration and participants will be contacted via email and telephone number provided when registering.

Classes always take place from 15pm to 17pm, over three consecutive days. Classes are scheduled for the following periods: August 16th to 18th; September 27th to 29th; October 18th to 20th; and November 8th to 10th.
