Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the State government changes the date of Expointer 2020. Scheduled, as traditionally occurs, for the end of August, the fair in Esteio is scheduled to take place from September 26th to October 4th.

The new date was announced this Thursday morning (18/6) by the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Covatti Filho. The fair, which this year celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Assis Brasil State Exhibition Park, in Esteio, must have health safety protocols defined by the Department of Health. Among these, the measurement of the temperature of visitors and tunnels of disinfection at entrance gates.

According to Secretary Covatti Filho, all processes necessary to hold the event will be mapped and forwarded for analysis by the Department of Health and the Covid-19 Crisis Committee.

“We will work with all hypotheses and discuss all possible protective actions. Our job is to guarantee safety for participants and exhibitors”, stated Covatti Filho, adding that the fair should mark the resumption of economic growth in the State.

Last year, the 42nd Expointer achieved revenue of R$ 2,69 billion, of which R$ 2,54 billion in business intentions in the agricultural machinery and implements sector.

"It is very important for the producer to know that we are willing for the fair to happen. We are making every effort to do so, but we will always prioritize the health of everyone who will attend", assured the secretary.

Expointer is also essential for family farming, especially for agribusinesses that this year, due to the pandemic, had to face the cancellation of numerous fairs in the State. In the 2019 edition, the area generated R$4,5 million.
