The technology for drying and storing grains recommended by Emater/RS throughout the State is a low-cost model that prioritizes the quality of the stored grains. This important tool for rural producers is part of the themes presented by the Institution at the 46th Expointer, a fair held at Parque Assis Brasil, in Esteio/RS, until Sunday (03/09). In this edition of the fair, the focus of Emater/RS is innovation and technology in search of sustainability and rural succession. In this sense, the drying and storage of grains on rural properties plays an important role.
In the thematic space, the importance of using this technology on rural properties is reinforced. The drying silo model developed by Emater/RS, built in masonry, is on display at the fair, using photovoltaic solar energy generation systems connected to the grid and another autonomous one (Off Grid). The Emater/RS technical team guides producers regarding silo management, construction aspects, cost forecasts and definition of drying time for grain crops.
“In this space, we aim to demonstrate to visitors the importance of this work, drying and storing grains, being done on the property. We highlight the advantages of using this technology, such as cost reduction and guaranteeing the quality of the stored grain. Linked to this, we are also presenting, through partnerships, the use of the photovoltaic solar energy system, which contributes to reducing costs on the property”, commented rural extension worker Rodrigo Sasso Rodrigues.
The Emater/RS technical team also highlights, in this thematic installment, the guidelines regarding the management of this infrastructure, as well as the care for the correct storage of grains. “In this aspect, we are providing guidance and alerting producers regarding pests that can affect the grains that are produced and stored on rural properties in Rio Grande do Sul”, he added.
