Expodireto Cotrijal closes with record business

A total of 263 thousand people visited Expodireto this year, 3% higher than in 2020. Total business volume is estimated at R$4,9 billion, an increase of 87% compared to the last edition

The 22nd Expodireto Cotrijal, in Não-Me-Toque, closed this Friday (11/02), after five days of intense movement along the avenues of the Exhibition Park and record business. The climate of Optimism dominated the press conference that ended the fair, marked by resumption of the event after a year of absence due to the covid-19 pandemic.

The fair's management announced, in an interview collective, that 263 thousand people visited Expodireto this year, 3% higher than 256 thousand visitors in 2020. Total business volume is estimated at R$ 4,9 billion. The value represents an increase of 87% in relation to R$ 2,6 billion registered in the 21st edition (2020).

In this edition, banks recorded R$4,3 billion in business, while R$510 millions come from own resources. The International Pavilion generated R$62,6 million and the Family Farming Pavilion, R$1,7 million.

According to the president of Cotrijal, Nei César Manica, the numbers were surprising positively. “The producer’s currency is soybeans. As soybeans doubled in price, cash business grew, although the largest volume was still realized via banks,” he explained.

Strength from agriculture

The challenges faced by producers also were seen at Expodireto Cotrijal 2022. pressure from agribusiness leaders on the days of the fair made the federal government announce, on Thursday (10), around R$2,8 billion to unlock rural credit for producers harmed by drought.

 “Once again, we show the strength of agriculture, of fair and entities, which jointly, with parliamentarians who defend the sector, mobilized to seek solutions”, said the president of Cotrijal.

Expodireto Digital debuts successfully

For the For the first time, the fair was held in a hybrid format. Expodireto Digital had the participation of 57 exhibitors and made the broadcast available live of the main programming activities, allowing knowledge to be disseminated throughout the world.

Until the noon this Friday (11), there were more than 2,2 million views on platform, which remains live until April 7th.

Resumption in all areas of the park

The Arena Agrodigital presented to the public the innovative work developed by startups operating in agriculture, proving that innovation is revolutionizing the sector and promoting greater profitability for producers.

The Pavilion of Family Farming, as is tradition, received thousands of visitors who They were looking to take home a souvenir of Expodireto. Agribusinesses across the world Rio Grande do Sul made thousands of products available that symbolize what is the best in Gaucho culture and gastronomy.

In the sector of machinery, major industry brands presented their new technologies. The companies received customers from different parts of the country who took advantage of Expodireto to renew the fleet.

The fair was also marked by the holding of forums, public hearings and lectures that discussed the challenges of soy, corn, milk, forests, soil conservation and of water, and much more. In other words, Expodireto fulfilled its role of promoting great business and knowledge for rural producers.

The 23rd Expodireto Cotrijal already has a date set. The event will take place between the 6th and 10th March 2023.
