With more than 550 thousand 60kg bags sold to the foreign market, the Cooperativa dos Cafeicultores do Cerrado (Expocacer) records a 41% increase in coffee exports, compared to the whole of 2023, breaking a record. The volume is equivalent to a revenue of around 840 million reais. For the domestic market, sales totaled more than 870 thousand 60kg bags, with a revenue of 1 billion reais, totaling around 1,9 billion reais in revenue in 2024.

“At Expocacer, we work continuously to offer high-quality coffees, which is the result of the commitment and dedication of our producers. We have recently taken important steps to strengthen our international presence, with the opening of commercial representations in South Korea and the United Kingdom, in addition to a logistics hub in the United States, inaugurated in 2024. These actions have been decisive in increasing our competitiveness, optimizing operations and boosting exports, allowing us to reach new markets and establish highly relevant strategic partnerships”, highlights Ítalo Henrique, Commercial Director of Expocacer.

The coffee market is also on the rise due to the growing culture of coffee consumption among the younger population. The cooperative exports coffee to more than 35 countries, the main destinations being France, Belgium, Japan, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, South Korea and the United States, leading the ranking with around 15% of all exports from Expocacer.

According to Mordor Intelligence, the global coffee market size is estimated at USD 132 billion and is expected to reach around USD 166 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 4,72% during the forecast period. Rising disposable income coupled with urbanization is the main factor contributing to the growth of this market, in addition to the increasing demand for socially and ecologically ethical products. Consumers seek certified and traceable coffees to ensure the credibility of the beverage. In the last year, the cooperative has made several shipments in compliance with the European Union Anti-Deforestation Law (EUDR).

An important highlight in the cooperative's pioneering journey in 2024 was the approval of ECO By Expocacer, an exclusive sustainability protocol recognized by the Global Coffee Platform (GCP) as equivalent to the Coffee Sustainability Reference Code, with a second-party guarantee. ECO By Expocacer's principle is to ensure that all parties involved in the certification scheme are aligned with the fundamental principles of an economically profitable, socially conscious and environmentally sustainable coffee sector.

“The growth in the number of conscious consumers has been one of the main factors behind the increase in our exports. New generations, such as Millennials and Generation Z, play a central role in this scenario, with an ever-increasing demand for products that reflect values of sustainability, environmental responsibility and transparency. Our coffees are certified with seals such as regenerative, low carbon and organic, in addition to guaranteeing full traceability, and are aligned with these expectations, fostering consumer confidence in knowing the origin of the bean,” says Simão Pedro de Lima, CEO of Expocacer.

According to Mordor Intelligence, in addition to traditional coffee flavors, new and unique sensorial flavors, with floral notes and other natural flavors, are increasingly attracting new consumers who are looking for unique tasting experiences. These innovations have also helped drive the growth of the coffee market.

In this scenario, Expocacer stands out for offering coffees of controlled origin, which meet the growing demand for unique tasting experiences. “In addition to preserving the quality of the Cerrado Mineiro Region, we work to deliver to our commercial partners an offer that follows the market’s innovation trends, aligning with the expectations of consumers who seek new and differentiated flavors”, concludes the Commercial Director of Expocacer.
