The Cerrado Coffee Growers Cooperative (Expocaccer) celebrates 30 years this Friday (01/08), and is developing a new strategic plan for the next four years. The initiative operates at the forefront of the production of sustainable and quality coffees with a focus on innovation and generating value for its producers, and is headquartered in Patrocínio, Minas Gerais.

Located in the Cerrado Mineiro, a region that produces around 30% of all coffee in Brazil, the cooperative has almost 700 coffee growers and seeks to decarbonize its producers, expand the production of specialty coffees, implement family succession projects, encourage and valorization of female work in coffee farming and the opening of new markets in Brazil and abroad.

"Faced with a radical transformation in conventional coffee farming, our evolution and innovation in production is already evident. However, it is time to adopt a different perspective, emphasizing quality, sustainability and transparency in relationships", declares Fernando Beloni, president of Expocaccer.

According to Beloni, the strategic desire to make the region's coffee producers world leaders in innovation and sustainability will further consolidate the cooperative's image as a visionary, transparent entity ahead of its time.

“Progress and evolution are essential for humanity”, emphasizes Simão Pedro de Lima, superintendent director of the cooperative. “We keep our vision in tune with modernity. To be truly innovative, it is not enough to just keep up; It is essential to lead, driven by a meaningful and adaptive Purpose”, he adds.

Expocaccer is one of the seven cooperatives that make up the governance of the Cerrado Mineiro Region - a Denomination of Origin widely recognized for the innovative and technological character of its producers and the coffee farming they practice. "The world yearns for new practices and innovations. Our mission is to lead this vanguard, with a culture based on technology, regeneration and equity", concludes Ricardo Bartholo, member of the Administrative Council and producer.

Appellation of Origin

The seals validate and guarantee the origin and quality of the coffee, important characteristics that, through the Denomination of Origin, the Cerrado Mineiro offers to accredited cooperatives and associations and Expocaccer, with the leadership of the ranking, best represented the region's producers. In the cooperative, traceability and certifications reaffirm the quality and sustainable management of good agricultural practices adopted by members.
