After two years without being held due to the pandemic, the traditional agricultural exhibition promoted by the Brazilian Tobacco Growers Association (Afubra) returns to the association's exhibition park, in Rio Pardo. Vice-governor Ranolfo Vieira Júnior participated in the official opening of Expoagro Afubra, this Wednesday (23/3), accompanied by the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Silvana Covatti.

Considered the largest fair focused on family farming in the country, Expoagro began in 2001. The vice-governor praised the resumption of the event and recalled his participation in the 2019 edition, when the State was facing a series of fiscal difficulties. “We had the civil servants' payroll being paid late, debts with suppliers, increased rates and ICMS, and we never expected that we would face a pandemic, which would bring the world to a halt. Today, after these two years, we can celebrate the return of Expoagro Afubra and also celebrate the game changer of our State, with salaries and bills up to date, tax rates reduced to their original levels and historic investments, which already total R$5,6, XNUMX billion, in all areas”, said Ranolfo.

Among the new features of this edition is the expansion of the Family Farming Pavilion, which doubled in size, going from 1,5 m² to 3,4 m². The new space was inaugurated after the opening ceremony.

"The Department of Agriculture is supporting the fair with resources for the Family Farming Pavilion, which is a sample of how much our small rural entrepreneurs have the vocation and talent to produce varied and high-quality food”, highlighted Silvana. The new pavilion has 197 exhibitors of family agroindustry enterprises, flowers and handicrafts. The secretariat participates with a contribution of R$ 170 thousand to the fair for family farmers registered in the State Family Agroindustry Program (Peaf).

Expoagro Afubra ends on Saturday (26/3), with free entry.
