Evolution in the field will be portrayed in the technological showcases of Colheita do Arroz

Considered one of the highlights of the Official Opening of the Rice Harvest, the technological showcases should once again draw the attention of producers and visitors to Parque Doutor Lauro Dornelles, in Alegrete (RS), where the twenty-sixth edition of the event takes place. In the 0,6 hectares allocated for the plots, farmers will see the main innovations in technologies not only in rice, but also in soybeans, corn and pastures. In total, 17 companies and entities will present their products.

According to the financial director of the Federation of Rice Growers Associations of Rio Grande do Sul (Federarroz), Gustavo Thompson, the development of the plots is excellent, especially in rice crops. He points out that the excess rain in the region is proving to be a test for the other crops that will be presented. "For the producer, it will be very good to see the reality of a soybean and corn crop in a rice area", he observes.

Thompson assesses that the innovations presented in the technological showcases during the Official Rice Harvest Openings are the result of the adoption of new practices in the field and what will be shown in Alegrete will portray the current moments of Rio Grande do Sul's crops. "Each farmer draws his own conclusions, whether financial, technical or agronomic", she highlights.

Companies and entities such as the Instituto Riograndense do Arroz (Irga), Basf, Embrapa, FMC, Bayer, Dow AgroScienses, RiceTec, DuPont, Pioneer, Cooperativa Agroindustrial Alegrete (CAAL), Coodetec, Federal University of Pampa (Unipampa) participate in the technological showcases. , Spraytec Fertilizers, Syngenta, Agrotain, Ihara and Delta Plastics.

The twenty-sixth edition of the Official Opening of the Rice Harvest takes place between the 18th and 20th of February 2016 at Parque Lauro Dornelles, in Alegrete. The event is organized by Federarroz and Associação dos Arrozeiros de Alegrete, with the support of the Rural Union of Alegrete.
