Last Monday (5/9), Cultivar disclosed data on the increase in diesel prices throughout Brazil in August, released by the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL) analysis.
According to information from the latest survey, at the end of August the average price of a liter of common diesel in the South Region increased by 7,07%, compared to the first ten days of the month, and closed the month at R$ 5,30, while the type S-10 increased by 8,40% in the region and was sold at R$ 5,42. These were the lowest averages in the country for fuel.
The price of ethanol fell by 0,71% in the region, compared to the first ten days of August, the most significant decline in the country, and was sold at R$4,20. Gasoline closed at R$ 5,77 per liter and became 2,12% more expensive for drivers.
“Gasoline and diesel have become more expensive throughout the South Region and the increase in the price of gasoline is a reflection of the 16,3% increase in the value passed on to refineries, valid since August 16th. Ethanol, when compared to gasoline, was considered economically more advantageous for filling only at stations in Paraná. Even so, the fuel is more ecologically viable, as it is capable of considerably reducing gas emissions responsible for climate change”, points out Douglas Pina, general director of mobility at Edenred Brasil.
