Esalqshow proposes the agriculture of the future

Propose, reveal and debate innovation and technology trends in the agro sector in order to support 10 billion inhabitants in the near future. This is the motto of Esalqshow, a technological innovation fair that takes place on the Luiz de Queiroz campus, in Piracicaba, on the 10th and 11th of October.

This Monday, 18/09, the event's Advisory Board met at ESALQ and presented, in addition to the technical program, opportunities for accelerating the innovation process in the agro environment for which the event is intended.

Accompanied by the mayor of Piracicaba, Barjas Negri, the former Minister of Agriculture, Roberto Rodrigues, in addition to the group of teachers, businesspeople and representatives of agricultural associations, the director of ESALQ, professor Luiz Gustavo Nussio, spoke about the relevance of the themes to be addressed. “This is a contemporary event, aligned with an economic reality that demands, among other aspects, an environment that accelerates the development of new companies in this sector”.

Regarding the partnership with the municipality, Barjas Negri stressed that Esalqshow consolidates Piracicaba as a technological hub for agribusiness. “It is an innovation fair, which encourages new partnerships, projects the city as an agricultural conglomerate nationally and internationally, in addition to promoting business tourism given the presence of so many businesspeople and professionals who will circulate here on the days of the fair”.

For the president of the Esalqshow Board, Roberto Rodrigues, the fair is not intended to have a commercial bias, but rather to face social demands and point out the horizon of agribusiness. “Our expectation is that Esalqshow will become a traditional fair, characterized by speeding up the innovation cycle and revealing to us the agriculture of the future”.

ESALQ Showcase – While lectures and debates take place, the public will be able to check out the ESALQ Showcase, with exhibitions and demonstrations of excellent projects and services made available to society and the market in the various departments on campus. Free transport will be offered so that the public can visit these spaces.

Organized by USP/ESALQ and Araiby, Esalqshow will be part of the traditional Luiz de Queiroz Week 2017 and is sponsored by John Deere, Coplacana, Case-IH, Monsanto and AGCO and supported by FEALQ, Prefeitura Municipal de Piracicaba, ADEALQ, ESALQTEC and PUSP-LQ, SAA (Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply) and MAPA (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply).
