Esalq-USP has open applications for a doctorate in cellular and molecular biology

The International Postgraduate Program in Plant Cellular and Molecular Biology, at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture of the University of São Paulo (Esalq-USP), has five places for doctoral and direct doctorate courses. Registration for the class that will begin in the first semester of 2021 will be open until August 31st.

The program has four thematic lines: “Molecular genetics and development”, “Genetics, metabolism and physiology of plant stress”, “Interaction of plants with other organisms: molecules, ecology and evolution” and “OMICS: plants and microorganisms”.

Registration must be done exclusively by email. All requested documents must be scanned into PDF format and sent in a single email to inscricao.pg.esalq@usp.br.

The requested documents are application form completed, proof of payment of the registration fee in the amount of R$ 214,00, updated Lattes CV, higher education transcript, higher education diploma, academic transcript and master's diploma for doctoral candidates and research plan with a maximum of 10 pages.

The selection criteria for candidates include: specific test of knowledge in cellular and molecular biology lasting two hours, analysis of the documents sent and the research plan. In addition, candidates will participate in an oral assessment on the research project and curriculum.

The requirements and assessment for the direct doctorate are the same as those described for the doctorate. However, the candidate must demonstrate, through their CV, the development of a scientific initiation project in one of the program's lines of research and which has resulted in participation in scientific events of national and/or international importance, with the presentation of work or the publication of scientific article in a journal.

All candidates must take a logic test, which will be administered remotely, in the form of a test, through a web platform.
