Esalq receives representatives from an Israeli company

The Luiz de Queiroz Higher School of Agriculture (Esalq/USP) received, on the afternoon of this Friday, 8/4, representatives from Adama, an Israeli company that works with agricultural pesticides.

With the purpose of identifying areas in which they can establish partnerships with Esalq, Marco Antonio Tavares Rodrigues, Global Fungicides Manager and Pullaiah Narahari, Head of Global Product Development they were welcomed by the director of Esalq, professor Durval Dourado Neto.

“Our company is one of the world leaders in the field of pesticides, we have partnerships with Brazilian universities and other countries and the purpose is to learn about Esalq’s potential in order to prospect future partnerships”, pointed out Marco Antonio.

During their stay at Esalq, they visited the Chemical Ecology and Insect Behavior Laboratory, coordinated by professor José Maurício Simões Bento, from the Entomology and Acarology department. Afterwards, they visited the Stress and Plant Neurophysiology Laboratory, coordinated by professor Ricardo Ferraz de Oliveira, from the Biological Sciences department.

“It is important to show why Esalq is among the best in the world in agricultural sciences and how we can contribute to this area. Today we present part of our skills in developing solutions that make it possible to solve problems in Brazilian and global agriculture. We hope that this first contact can evolve into research agreements, allowing access to resources that allow us to further improve our infrastructure”, commented the director of Esalq.
