The Minas Gerais Agricultural Research Corporation (Epamig) is holding the course “Organic Coffee Farming – Soil, Leaf and Organic Material Sampling” this Friday (16/5) in Araponga. The activity will be held from 12 pm to 18 pm and focuses on improving sampling practices in certified crops.
The action meets the demands of local coffee growers, including members of the Cooperative of Family Farmers of Poço Fundo (Coopfam). The content covers technical procedures for collecting soil and leaves, which are essential from the beginning of the implementation to the production phase of the crops.
The course will be divided between theoretical classes and practical activities on family farms. Field demonstrations will reinforce learning and help producers avoid mistakes that can lead to losses in soil correction and fertilization.
According to researcher Waldênia Moura, from Epamig, the training will allow for greater efficiency in the practices adopted by organic coffee growers. The course is also integrated into Coopfam's training programs, in line with the requirements of organic coffee certifiers.
Registration can be done at the event location, between 12:30 pm and 13 pm. The course is supported by Coopfam, Escola Família Agrícola Puris de Araponga, Fapemig and CNPq.
