Epagri opens selection for 90 agricultural research and innovation scholarship holders

The Santa Catarina Agricultural Research and Rural Extension Company (Epagri) is selecting 90 scholarship holders to work in its research and innovation units. There are 90 vacancies distributed across 14 company units located in 11 municipalities in Santa Catarina. The selection process meets the Public Call of the Foundation for Research and Innovation of the State of Santa Catarina (Fapesc) nº 17/2023. Registration is open until January 21st.

The objective of the initiative is to provide intellectual capital to support Epagri's scientific, technological, research management and innovation projects. The vacancies are linked to Epagri's Technological Innovation Center and the institutional Technical Programs for Aquaculture and Fisheries, Development and Environmental Sustainability, Fruit Growing, Business and Market Management, Grains, Vegetable Farming and Livestock, carried out in Experimental Stations, Specialized Centers and Company Administrative Headquarters.

“We are very pleased to begin this process that will allow 90 professionals to work side by side with our research teams, training themselves, sharing knowledge and supporting projects aimed at the sustainable development of rural and fishing areas in Santa Catarina”, highlights the president of Epagri, Dirceu Leite.

Scholarship vacancies

There are 3 vacancies for professionals with a doctorate, 34 vacancies for higher education, 26 for mid-level professionals and 27 for higher-level students. They are distributed in the municipalities of Florianópolis, Itajaí, Urussanga, São Joaquim, Lages, Campos Novos, Ituporanga, Videira, Caçador, Canoinhas and Chapecó. The activities will be carried out in person, with a workload of 30 hours per week.

The scholarship values ​​are: R$6,2 for professionals with a doctorate, R$5,2 for higher education, R$1,95 for secondary education and R$1 for higher education students. The global value is up to R$6,5 million, to be invested for up to 24 months.

Knowledge areas

The opportunities offered by Epagri are in the most diverse areas of knowledge, including data science, economics, geoprocessing, advertising, journalism, graphic design, fish farming, mariculture, environmental monitoring, architecture, civil engineering, fruit growing, vegetables, grains, milk, soils , oenology, plant health, phytotechnics, development and environmental sustainability, among others.

Epagri's director of science, technology and innovation, Reney Dorow, sees this process as an exchange that boosts agricultural research and technological evolution in Santa Catarina, while at the same time offering an unprecedented opportunity for young people with adequate training. “When joining Epagri, these professionals will contribute, but also improve their perspective in the area of ​​research and innovation, so that they can then pursue their careers and continue improving in the academic area,” she states.

registration and selection

Applications for scholarships are open until January 21, 2024. Candidates must register by sending the mandatory documentation by email to the specific addresses indicated in the notice, according to the vacancy of interest.

The analysis and judgment of merit regarding technical qualification will be eliminatory and classificatory in nature. This process will be carried out by the manager of the vacancy's research unit, with support from the technical supervisor or researchers in the area.

Epagri will publish the final results of the selected scholarship holders on February 5th. After publication, approved candidates who do not have pending issues with the Direct or Indirect Public Administration will be called in accordance with the order of classification.
