Embrapa launches licensing notice for multipliers of new blackberry variety, BRS Ticuna

Since October 13th, the public offering notice for producers interested in multiplying and commercializing the BRS Ticuna blackberry cultivar. Lots can be requested until 17pm on October 24th by emailing elbio.cardoso@embrapa.br, under the subject “Offer Announcement No. 13/2022”. 

The request must contain all the documents provided for in the edict. Producers who rely on the National Seed and Seedling Registry (Renasem) as producers of amorata seedlings (Rubus spp.) can participate. 

In the process, Embrapa is offering two lots, with fifty cuttings of basic plants of the cultivar. The value is 500 reais per lot. Producers can only purchase one lot, but express interest in remaining lots, if any.

The offer will be in order of receipt of requests, until lots are exhausted. Winners will be notified by email from October 26th. For more information, call (53) 3275-8435 or (53) 3275-8437.

About the blackberry cultivar BRS Ticuna

The BRS Ticuna blackberry cultivar stands out for its productivity, with large fruits and an acidic flavor. With chemical processing resources, it is recommended for the production of jellies and chimias. The material was developed by the Blackberry Genetic Improvement Program at Embrapa Clima Temperado (Pelotas, RS) and should be launched soon.
