Embrapa participates in the Show Rural Coopavel 2021, from March 22 to 26, 2021, with an online program aimed at disseminating technologies and interacting with the public. The information can be accessed at special page, created especially for the event. In addition to demonstrating technologies, 12 Embrapa units will be presenting products, processes and services for the production of fruits, vegetables, grains, meat, energy and fibers, as well as technologies for soil management and evaluation, seedling production and innovations that incorporate technologies 4.0 on the field.

Embrapa's participation in the Rural Show will also feature thematic live shows, which will be shown on the Embrapa channel. Embrapa on Youtube. The complete program can be seen at special page. Embrapa, in partnership with Fundação Meridional, presents the soybean cultivars BRS 523, BRS 539 and BRS 1054IPRO. All of them have seeds on the market, available through commercial partners.

BRS 523

BRS 523 is a conventional cultivar that has greater tolerance to the stink bug complex, as it has the characteristics of Block Technology. “In addition to this difference, it is highly productive when compared to the best market options and very stable, which provides production security in different situations. It was even validated in the organic system, with excellent results”, explains Embrapa Soja researcher, Marcos Rafael Petek. This cultivar belongs to maturity group 5.8, making it an option for producers who need an early cultivar in their production system. It is recommended for Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.

BRS 539

Another novelty of this harvest is BRS 539, a conventional cultivar, which is resistant to Asian rust and tolerance to stink bug. “It is important to highlight that this cultivar is from the Shield and Block rust protection technology portfolio. It still stands out for its high production potential and maintenance of production stability”, highlights Petek.

This cultivar belongs to maturity group 6.1, classified as early and allows early sowing, making it possible to sow safrinha corn at the best time, in the regions indicated for the cultivar in soybean macro-region 2 (Paraná, São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul) and makes it possible the succession/rotation of crops in macroregion 1 (Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo).

BRS 1054 IPRO

Regarding BRS 1054 IPRO, which presents genetic characteristics for tolerance to glyphosate and control of some species of caterpillars, it is still highly productive compared to other market options at altitudes above 700 m. “I would also highlight two characteristics: the stability of early production (maturity group 5.4) in addition to allowing early planting, maintaining productive potential and maximizing the crop succession/rotation system”, as well as facilitating the management of rust. soy, emphasizes Petek.

The BRS 1054IPRO is recommended for Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná and São Paulo. Regarding health, it is resistant to stem canker, “frog-eye” spot, root rot of Phytophthora and common soybean mosaic and is moderately resistant to powdery mildew and brown stem rot.
