Embrapa and Sebrae celebrate technical cooperation agreement to strengthen small rural businesses

The technical and financial cooperation agreement covers the areas of aquaculture, agroecology and organic production

With the aim of encouraging good agricultural practices by small rural producers, the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) and Sebrae signed, on July 27th, in Brasília, a technical and financial cooperation agreement in the areas of aquaculture, agroecology and production organic, opportunities for agri-food products and access to sustainable knowledge and technologies.

The event marks the celebrations of Farmer's Day (28/07) and will also include a set of activities, including tributes to rural producers, lectures and panels on small rural businesses, agrobiodiversity, legislation and public policies. The president of Embrapa, Maurício Antônio Lopes, will present the lecture “The role of small rural businesses in a country considered the world's food store”.

The formalization of cooperation takes place at the opening of Prospera Agro, an event organized by Sebrae to debate with experts in different segments of agribusiness the importance of small rural businesses for the Brazilian economy.
