The startup from Rio Grande do Sul focused on agribusiness, Elysios Agricultura Inteligente, was one of the three winners of BRDE Labs 2020. The acceleration program of the Banco Regional de Desenvolvimento do Extremo Sul-BRDE was created with the objective of capturing and accelerating startups that solve latent problems that the state has been facing in the current scenario, bringing together companies, government, universities and BRDE, to promote innovative solutions for Rio Grande do Sul. Thus, presenting its solution in the form of the Caderno de Campo Digital, the startup, graduated from the Technological Incubator Hestia from UFRGS won third place in the program.
The choice took into account the company's potential to contribute to the economic recovery after the pandemic. The winners will receive prizes ranging from R$10 to R$25, as well as support to find partners for new businesses.
In the acceleration program, the startups were accompanied by mentors appointed by the organizers - the Accelerator VENTIUR, BRDE and the Alliance for Innovation formed by the universities UFRGS/PUC/Unisinos, through their technology parks.
The themes selected to be worked on by the startups involved agribusiness, industry 4.0 and IoT (Internet of Things). Elysios Agricultura Inteligente, which uses artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things to develop intelligent solutions for precision horticulture and fruit growing, was selected in the agribusiness category, a sector to which BRDE is directly linked.
The startup's solution provides producers, technicians and cooperatives with the sensing and traceability of crops, working through the Digital Field Notebook. Thus, the producer can have better control and optimize the use of water and inputs, for example, avoiding unnecessary expenses in addition to viewing production in real time, collecting data from the field and tracking all cultivation events.
The result of the BRDE Labs winners came in the same week that Elysios was selected for another acceleration program, this time, from one of the largest companies in the world, Facebook. Through the Caderno Digital program, Facebook seeks innovative solutions for agriculture in Latin America.
“We are very happy with this recognition, it reinforces our tendency to always learn and take advantage of these opportunities, to be a good partner for this open innovation movement. It is a recognition of our work and the impact we are making, dedicating ourselves to these initiatives”, highlights the CEO and one of the founders of Elysios, Frederico Apollo Brito.
