DowDuPont Agricultural Division donates laboratory equipment to the São Carlos Chemistry Institute

DowDuPont's Agricultural Division delivered on Wednesday afternoon, 21/03, laboratory equipment (fixed assets and analytical materials) to the São Carlos Chemistry Institute, belonging to the University of São Paulo (USP). The transfer of equipment from the company's laboratories to those at the academy will allow the expansion of analytical chemistry and biomolecule studies carried out at the research unit.

“The equipment and materials that are being donated to the São Carlos Chemistry Institute will modernize the current laboratories, thus facilitating the performance of more analyzes and diagnoses”, explained the leader of the science laboratory at DowDuPont's Agricultural Division, Otávio Balderrama.

 “The arrival of these items, such as the ultra-low temperature freezer, for example, will serve to increase the sample storage capacity, and subsequently, the expansion of bioanalytical research”, assessed the person responsible for the laboratory, Emanuel Carrilho, who is dedicated to find solutions to genomic, proteomic, metabolomic and even food safety problems. The professor also highlighted the enormous amount of basic laboratory material, such as glassware, which will reinforce the warehouse of IQSC's undergraduate courses, showing that this donation will bring benefits not only to research, but also to teaching.
