Dow AgroSciences sponsors National Forum and XI Meeting of the Brazilian Wheat and Triticale Research Commission

Dow AgroSciences is a Diamond sponsor of the XI Meeting of the Brazilian Wheat and Triticale Research Commission and the National Wheat Forum – events that will be held at Coodetec's headquarters, in Cascavel (PR), between the 25th and 27th of July.

Promoted annually by the Brazilian Wheat and Triticale Research Commission, the main objective of the meetings is to establish strategies for the cultivation of the commodity throughout Brazil. The program includes lectures on Technological Innovation in Wheat Culture, as well as panels with various experts and discussions to align management recommendations.

“The XI Meeting of the Brazilian Wheat Research Commission and the National Forum allow the entire production chain to come together to discuss technologies and strategies aimed at wheat cultivation. The company is very enthusiastic about promoting discussions and analyzes of the topic, together with the main experts in the sector and experts in such an important crop”, highlights Marcus Fiorini, Marketing Leader for Large Crops at Dow AgroSciences.

During the event, participants will also have access to technical information about Tricea, a post-emergence herbicide for wheat that promotes high control of broad- and narrow-leaved weeds. “Tricea has excellent control of the main weeds in wheat, in addition to a residual effect on the soil. As a consequence, the crop develops more consistently and with productivity gains”, argues Fiorini.

Among the main weeds that affect wheat crops and are controlled by Tricea, are Ryegrass, white oats and black oats, turnip and deer vine. Added to this is the control of voluntary soy.

Those attending the event will also be able to learn about Dow AgroSciences' complete portfolio for wheat crops, such as the herbicides Glizmax Prime, DMA 806 BR, which are essential for managing resistance with a different mechanism of action. The fungicides Primo and Dithane NT, which preventively control diseases such as tan spot and rust, guaranteeing more protection against rain washing. And the insecticides Eforia, Lorsban 480 BR and Interprid 240 SC, which have a broad spectrum of action controlling sucking and some chewing pests.
