Direct PhD in remote sensing applied to soils at USP

Candidate must have prior experience in pedology, digital soil mapping and remote sensing

The Thematic Project “Quality of Brazil's soils via geotechnology: mapping, interpretation and agricultural/environmental applications: a legacy for society” has a direct doctorate position with a scholarship from FAPESP. The registration deadline ends on Friday (05/05).

Conducted at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture at the University of São Paulo (Esalq-USP), in Piracicaba, the project uses remote sensing data and machine learning algorithms with cloud processing to assess the quality of crops.

In the selection process, prior experience in pedology, digital soil mapping and remote sensing will be valued, as well as skills in using Google Earth Engine.

Attach to the message a signed registration form with photo, proof of payment of the registration fee in the amount of R$100, updated Lattes CV, higher education transcript and higher education diploma. In the title of the email, put “Soils and Plant Nutrition (Direct Doctorate)”.

The Direct Doctorate Scholarship provided by FAPESP lasts 48 months and has a monthly value of R$ 2.349,60 in the first year, R$ 2.494,20 in the second year, R$ 3.462,42 in the third year and R$ 4.285,50 in the Forth Year. A financial aid equivalent to 30% of the annual scholarship value will be granted for expenses directly related to research activities.
