The role, strength and importance of Brazilian agribusiness were highlighted by the president of Coopavel, Dilvo Grolli, during the official launch of the 35th Rural Show. More than 850 people participated in the ceremony Thursday night at the cooperative's athletic association, which brought together authorities, leaders from different production sectors, cooperative members and the press. The event also celebrated the 52nd anniversary of Coopavel, which with 7 thousand members and 7,3 thousand employees is one of the 15 largest agro-industrial cooperatives in the country.
Brazilian agribusiness productivity has grown 440% in the last 32 years, an average of 5,4% per year. In the same period, the size of the planted area increased by only 104%, which demonstrates the importance of technology in crops. “We, rural producers, donate 20% of our assets to the environment. No other country in the world does anything like this. Therefore, our farmers need to be respected and receive due value”, highlighted the president of Coopavel.
More than 60% of the national territory is preserved, very different from the reality in the rest of the world. “Brazil is the greenest country on the planet. Here, agribusiness is sustainable and what we produce is responsible for feeding almost a billion people”, stated Dilvo, highlighting the significance of the Coopavel Rural Show as a disseminator of technologies that, in addition to increasing productivity, introduces innovative concepts into the field. “And the path of the future is set: Brazil will become the largest food producer without a single tree in the Amazon needing to be felled.”
“The Coopavel Rural Show is a source of pride for all Cascavelenses. A showcase of the dedicated work of a cooperative, its producers and collaborators, who want the best for the region and their country. Congratulations Coopavel and success to the 35th edition of the Rural Show”, said Mayor Leonaldo Paranhos. The president of the Itaipu Technological Park, general Eduardo Castanheira Garrido Alves, spoke of the PTI's partnership with Coopavel and other innovation actors who created, in February 2022, Espaço Impulso. “We are very happy to participate in such an innovative hub that will contribute to advances in national agriculture.”
The theme of the 2023 Rural Coopavel Show will be The origin of everything, mentioning agribusiness, and everything it produces, as the source for the most diverse products consumed by economic chains that are essential to people and the economy. The promotional film for the event that will circulate the planet was also shown. In turn, the general coordinator of the event, Rogério Rizzardi, spoke about some new features that will come in February.
In addition to the construction and improvements of physical spaces, including the pavilion that will house the Digital Rural Show, the technology exhibition will feature 600 exhibiting companies, 25% of which are multinationals. Another strong feature will be the consolidation of the presence of renewable energy companies and also the participation of at least 15 exhibitors linked to the bioinputs segment. “We are working to make this the best edition ever,” according to Rizzardi.
