Brazil is the world's largest producer of sugar cane and has more than 400 plants that produce sugar, ethanol, electricity and crop by-products, with 80% of them concentrated in the state of São Paulo. According to the latest survey carried out by the National Supply Company (Conab) and released in August, the 2021/22 sugar cane harvest is expected to be 592 million tons.

Everything produced from this important raw material has two destinations: export and supply to the domestic market. In both cases, road transport is the main mode used. This important point in the chain is often where the biggest bottleneck in plants is found. Which in turn, logtech goFlux can solve. Industries can count on the ease of digitizing logistics processes, guaranteeing end-to-end benefits until sugar and ethanol, mainly, reach their final destination or port and railway terminals.

goFlux, a Brazilian startup founded in 2018, is a fully digital platform for quoting, negotiating, contracting and managing road freight. The solution has been revolutionizing the way freight contracts are contracted and boosting competitiveness in the transport segment. As in other segments, the sugar-energy sector has already benefited from the agility, transparency and greater negotiation possibilities that the tool offers.

For example, according to Rodrigo Morgado, commercial manager at goFlux, sugarcane fields that suffered from climate effects this harvest had to end their production cycle earlier than usual. “As a result, the planning period for the plants for the next cycle was also brought forward. And this is the ideal time for industries to learn about innovative solutions like ours”, he highlights.

Planning

Decisions made today for future logistics operations have short- and long-term economic impacts. After all, good planning favors the transport of larger quantities and even in a shorter time.

goFlux helps plants find transport opportunities that effectively meet all the particularities involving the exit of sugar and ethanol to their destinations. “We provide healthy competition, where industries have access to an extensive portfolio of carriers to find the best deal”, concludes the commercial manager.
